Winter League Meetings and Clinics

Winter League Meetings January 26, 2019 - Seattle Pacific University, Otto Miller Hall Room 109

MANDATORY FOR ALL CLUBS TO SEND A REPRESENTATIVE

Youth - 9-10:30am

HS - 10:30-Noon

 

New Rules Interpretation  - OMH room 127

ALL coaches must attend a new rules interp.  Particularly important this year with self starts in HS and transitional checking at the 7/8 level.

HS Focus - 9-10:30am

Youth Focus - 10:30-noon

 

Timing Scoring Clinic - OMH room 128

ALL programs must attend a timing/scoring.  Youth annually, HS every 2 years.

HS - 9-10:30am

Youth - 10:30-11:30

 

CPR/First Aid Class ($45) - OMH Room 127 1-4pm

REGISTER HERE  Class size limited - so sign up early

 

COACHING CLINICS:

 

Beginner Coaching -  Attack, Defense and Goalie 101 (geared towards beginners - players and coaches) - OMH 109 1-3pm

Each topic is 30 minutes in this order -  Defense (Allie Steinberg - Garfield Head Coach), Attack (Anna Gustafson - Bishop Blanchet Head Coach), Goalie (TBD), Coaching Beginner Players Overview (Lyndsey Gillis -  Mercer Island Head Coach) - including Q &A after each session. Attend one or all.

Coaching Different Skill Levels, Team Culture and Go To Drills with Liz Daly, University of Puget Sound Head Coach, OMH 128 1-2pm (geared towards HS players and coaches)

 

US Lacrosse Level 1 Coaching Clinic - Wallace Field

ALL Varsity, JV and 7/8 HEAD coaches must be USL Level 1 certified

US Lacrosse Coaching Clinics

Here is a list of all the US Lacrosse coaching clinics that are coming.  Some of these are still TBD.  Remember that new for 2019 all 14U (7/8) HEAD coaches are required to be Level 1 certified

Don't forget that NCSI background checks (required for certification) are now available to coach members at NO CHARGE as part of their annual membership -- as of October 14, 2018, it will be a requirement of all coach members to complete a NCSI background check on join/renewal (if they haven't already) AND they will also need to complete an online Safesport training course:  https://www.uslacrosse.org/blog/us-lacrosse-adds-free-background-check-and-safesport-training-requirement-to-all-adult-coach

 

WSLA coaches will be able to use a coupon code when registering for Level 1 clinics that will bring the clinic cost down to $10 (normally $50)
